AvW Consulting s.r.o. publishes Florida Nursing Home Guide to make public nursing-home information easier to find and compare. These standards govern data pages, explanatory guides, advertising disclosures and corrections.
Source hierarchy
For facility data, we prioritize original CMS Provider Data Catalog datasets and connect records with the facility’s CMS Certification Number. For government programs and regulatory explanations, we prefer CMS, Medicare.gov, Florida agencies, statutes, regulations and other primary public sources. Secondary sources may add context but do not replace an available primary source. Source links and limitations should appear close enough to the relevant claims for readers to verify them.
Data processing and review
The updater downloads the complete configured datasets, confirms that records belong to Florida, rejects duplicate identifiers, validates expected facility-count ranges and checks relationships between directory rows, profiles and sitemaps. Ratings are presented as CMS reports them. Missing or suppressed values are not converted to zero. Comparisons use reported values only, and county benchmarks are withheld where the configured minimum sample is not met. A failed validation leaves the previous published version in place.
Editorial independence and professional review
Commercial relationships do not permit an advertiser to change CMS data, suppress an unfavorable facility record or approve editorial conclusions. Legal advertising is separated and labelled. Dates and material changes
CMS snapshot dates describe the data release used by the directory. An article’s visible reviewed or updated date describes editorial work on that article and is not automatically changed by a routine data refresh. When a guide is materially revised, its visible date and structured-data date should be updated together. Minor typographical corrections need not change the editorial date.
Corrections policy
We review correction requests that identify a specific page, disputed statement and reliable supporting source. Public CMS data errors may need to be corrected by CMS or the reporting facility before the directory can reflect them. Clear processing, transcription and broken-link errors can be corrected in the site. Material corrections should be made promptly and without accepting payment. What readers should verify
CMS data is a comparison and screening tool, not a substitute for the latest inspection report, a facility visit or discussion with residents and their representatives. Availability, services and staffing can change after a dataset is published. Confirm those details directly, check official inspection documents and use multiple measures rather than relying on one star rating.
